Indian EC to send 3 polls observers

The Indian Election Commission is sending a three-member team of observers for the parliamentary polls in Bangladesh, sources at the commission said last night.

The Indian Election Commission is sending a three-member team of observers for the parliamentary polls in Bangladesh, sources at the commission said last night.

The team members are: Suman Das, secretary to the Indian Election Commission; Arif Afsab, chief electoral officer of West Bengal state; and Subrata Sahoo, chief electoral officer of Chhattisgarh state.

The team is set to

leave for Dhaka on December 28.

The Indian EC's decision to send the team of observers follows an invite from its Bangladesh counterpart last week.
