Judicial probe demanded into attack on students

A group of guardians and citizens today demanded judicial probe into the recent spate of attacks on quota reformists across the country.

Wielding a banner of ‘Udbigno Obhibhabok O Nagorik’, they demanded exemplary punishment of those behind the “heinous” attacks from a rally at Jatiya Press Club.

The group criticised the government for such restraining the scope of protests into the matter – referring to a previous rally on July 3 which was foiled.

The citizens' platform also demanded immediate release of those who have been detained and immediate withdrawal of all cases against them.
