Customs officials arrest a man with a “pistol” at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in capital Dhaka.
Customs officials arrested a man with a “pistol” at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in capital Dhaka today.
The arrestee was identified as Hasan Ali, Sazzad Hossain, assistant commissioner of customs, told The Daily Star.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Hasan arrived in Dhaka by a flight TK712 from Turkey around 5:30am, added the customs official.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of customs took position at key points of the airport and arrested Hasan on suspicion.
After searching his luggage, customs officials seized a foreign pistol and 100 bullets, the official said.
The arrestee was handed over to police.
