Mobile banking scammer arrested

Police arrested a bKash officer imposter in Rajpara of Rajshahi on Wednesday night, in a case filed for deceiving a man more than two years ago.

Selim Mia (26) was held at his home in Maharajpur in Baliakandi of Rajpara, confirmed Rajshahi Metropolitan Police spokesman Golam Ruhul Quddus.

One Salahuddin Biswas filed the case against him with Rajpara Police Station on October 10, 2018.

In the case, he said, introducing himself as an officer of the mobile financial service, Selim took his bKash PIN number and stole Tk 32,063 from his account.

A Rajshahi court sent the accused to jail when he was produced before it yesterday, the RMP spokesperson said.
