Olamas, Imams and Islamists hold a grand rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka. Islamic Foundation hosts the rally marking its founding anniversary with the participation of thousands of white-dressed and capped people.

 

Olamas, Imams and Islamists today held a grand rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka.

Islamic Foundation hosted the rally this afternoon marking its founding anniversary with the participation of thousands of white-dressed and capped people. 

 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the rally around 3:00 pm.

Some key thoroughfares in the capital have been kept off limits for the city dwellers fearing traffic jam ahead of the rally.

Throughout the morning, traffic was significantly thinner. A few number of public transports were seen plying the streets in Karwan Bazar, Shahbagh and Matsya Bhaban areas. Private cars were a handful in numbers.
