Papia, her husband placed on fresh 15-day remand

Jubo Mohila League's suspended leader Shamima Nur Papia and her husband Mofizur Rahman Sumon have been placed on 15-day remand today, in connection with three cases.

Jubo Mohila League's suspended leader Shamima Nur Papia and her husband Mofizur Rahman Sumon were each placed on 15-day remand today, in connection with three cases.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sarafuzzaman Ansary placed the couple on 10-day remand in two cases filed with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station under the Special Power Act and the Arms Act on February 24.

Besides, another court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debbrata Biswas granted five-day remand for them in another case filed with Bimanbandar Police Station under the Special Power Act on February 23.

Papia and Sumon were produced before the courts with a 30-day remand prayer for each in the three cases this noon.

During the hearing, there were no defence or prosecution lawyers in the courtroom.

On February 22, a team of Rapid Action Battalion arrested them from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
