Purana Paltan high-rise catches fire

A fire broke out at a 20-storey building in Dhaka’s Purana Paltan this morning.
The fire broke out on the second floor of the high-rise, adjacent to Shawon Tower, in the area around 9:10am, said Md Mahfuz, duty officer at the fire service control room.
Informed, five firefighting units from the headquarters and Khilgaon Fire Station rushed to the spot and are trying to douse the flame.
It was not clear what caused the fire.
