Railway staff dies falling off running train

An attendant of Bangladesh Railway died after he fell off from a moving train in Cantonment area of Dhaka this morning.

The deceased Liakat, 45, a staff of Mymensigh-bound Teesta Express train, suddenly fell off from a compartment of the running train around 8:30am, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dhaka Railway Police Station Yasin Faruque said

He was standing at the open gate of the compartment, the OC said.

He succumbed to his injuries at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 11:30pm, added the OC.

Critically injured Liakat was first taken to Kurmitola General Hospital and later shifted to the DMCH as his condition deteriorated.
