The fire that broke out at a slum in Dhaka’s Rampura area has been brought under control.

The fire that broke out at a slum in Dhaka’s Rampura area early today has been brought under control.

The fire originated at the slum in Mahanagar Project area around 1:28am, Kamrul Hasan, duty officer at Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters told The Daily Star.

On information, five fire-fighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control around 2:21am, he said.

No casualties were reported in the fire, Kamrul Hasan added.

However, the reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
