The High Court today issued a rule asking authorities concerned to explain why the Anti-Corruption commission should not be directed to investigate into a graft allegation against Rajshahi University vice chancellor and three others.

Three others – RU pro-vice chancellor and its treasurer and registrar -- are reportedly involved in corruption of purchasing a land for the university.

The HC bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman came up with the rule following a writ petition filed by Asaduzzaman, a former student of the university, seeking necessary order.

He submitted the petition on Sunday following a report over the allegation published in different newspapers including Bangla daily Prothom Alo on different dates last week against RU VC and the three others.
