2 killed in Tangail road crash

Two people were killed in a collision between two trucks in Tangail Sadar upazila early today.

The deceased were identified as Anwar Hossain, 50, a businessman and a resident of Munshiganj district, and Mamun Islam, 28, a truck driver, hailing from Sirajganj district.

Highway police sources said a cement-laden truck from the northern region hit another truck at Koratipara around 4:30am, leaving the duo dead on the spot.

Sub-inspector of Highway Police camp of Tangail Kamruzzaman Raj confirmed the incident.
