3 AK-47 rifles seized in Bandarban, 3 held

Rapid Action Battalion today seized three AK-47 rifles and two pistols and arrested three alleged armed traders from Bandarban Sadar upazila this noon.

Arrestees Lal-Pial Thung, 48, Bashu Bawm, 45, and Ching Thoai Chak, 44, have been running arms trade in the area since long, Lieutenant Colonel Mistha Uddin Ahmed commanding officer of Rab-7, told our local correspondent.

A team of Rab-7 in the guise of customers called the arrestees showing their eagerness to buy firearms from them.

Responding to the call, the three traders went to Marma Bazar to sell their firearms and were caught red-handed.
