‘81% construction work of Padma Bridge completed’
Road Transport and Bridges ministry today informed the parliamentary standing committee on the respective ministry that around 81 percent construction work of the Padma Bridge has been completed so far.
The ministry also informed that 71 percent works of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge project has so far been completed.
The ministry informed this at a meeting of the parliamentary standing committee on Road Transport and Bridges ministry at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
In the report, submitted before the parliamentary watchdog, the ministry also informed the JS body on overall progress of different works of Padma Multipurpose Bridge project.
According to the report, 100 percent works of Jajira and Mawa link road and construction of service area-2 have been completed while 51 percent works of river training has also been completed so far.
The committee, however, did not discussed on the report in its yesterday’s meeting chaired by M Akabbar Hossain, a member of the committee said.
He said that the committee decided to visit Padma Bridge construction site after prorogation of the ongoing budget session likely to be end on July 11.
