None of the 81 returnees was infected with coronavirus but they were kept at Chuadanga Technical Training Centre, Sadar Hospital and three local hotels for a 14-day mandatory quarantine, said Monira Parveen, additional deputy commissioner of Chuadanga.

They came home between yesterday morning and evening using the Darshana check-post, Monira, also the convener of the Covid-19 Control and Prevention Committee, told our Kushtia correspondent.

The 81 returnees yesterday brought the total number returning to the country through Darshana to 415 people so far, the ADC added.

Sub-inspector Abdul Alim, immigration-in-charge of Darshana-Joynagar check-post, said all 81 returnees went to India at different times for treatment.

On Thursday, a total of 118 Bangladeshis returned home through the Gede-Darshana border in Chuadanga. Of them, four tested positive for Covid-19.
