AL man stabbed to death in Khulna

An activist of Awami League (AL) was stabbed to death allegedly by his rivals over previous enmity in Khulna’s Digholia today, police said.

Deceased Tipu Sheikh, 50, was a resident of Padmabila village in Digholia upazila.

Tipu came under the attack around 6:00pm while he was on way to home from a local market, our local correspondent reports quoting locals.

The unidentified criminals hit Tipu’s head with sticks and then stabbed in his legs, leaving him injured seriously, said Md Anisur Rahman, additional superintendent of Khulna police. 

After being rescued by locals, he succumbed to his injuries on way to Khulna Medical College Hospital, the police official said.

No one was arrested yet in this connection.
