Body of newborn found in box in Jashore

Police recovered the body of a newborn at Ghop Naoapara area in Jashore this evening.

The dead body wrapped with clothes was found in a carton box under a mango tree, adjacent to Bhairab River, this evening, reports our Benapole correspondent quoting Md Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.

Being informed by locals, a team of police rushed to the spot and recovered the body of newborn girl, the OC said, adding that the body was sent to Jashore General Hospital for autopsy.
