Police arrested a leader of banned militant outfit Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), Chittagong unit with explosives and grenade-making materials in the port city today.

Arrestee Ershad Hossain Mamun, is a regional commander of Chittagong, reports our district correspondent quoting police.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police raided a mess in Baganbari area around 7:30am and arrested him with the explosives and grenade-making materials, Sajib Kumar Das, officer-in-charge (OC) of Akbar Shah Police Station, told the daily.
Police were interrogating the JMB leader at the local police station, the OC said in the morning.
