Cumilla bus fire: another victim dies at Dhaka hospital

An elderly man, who was injured when a bus caught fire on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Cumilla's Daudkandi on March 11, died at Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in Dhaka today.

An elderly man, who was injured when a bus caught fire on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Cumilla's Daudkandi on March 11, died at Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in Dhaka today.

Golam Hossain, 75, had suffered 31 percent burn, said Dr Partha Shankar Pal, a resident medical officer of the institute.

His daughter and grandchild also sustained burn injuries during the accident. They were released from the hospital later.

Another victim -- Shamsunnahar (65) -- is undergoing treatment at the ICU of the institute.

Two people were killed and 15 were injured when the bus heading for Chandpur's Matlab from Dhaka reached Gouripur bus stand area around 6:30pm, police said.
