Man held with fake currency

Police detained a man and seized huge Indian fake currency from Pukuria area in Shibganj upazila of the district early yesterday.

The arrestee, Abdul Basit, 28, son of Golam Nabi, is a resident of Kansat village.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team, intercepted a Sonamasjid bound auto-rickshaw around 4:30am and arrested Basit along with 21.3 lakh Indian fake currency.
