Mother, daughter killed in Bogra

Police recovered the bodies of a woman and her six-year-old daughter from their residence in Barogola Tinpotti area of Bogra this morning.

The deceased were identified as Rubi, 24, wife of Yusuf Sheikh, a Saudi expatriate, and her daughter Sumaiya, 6, Sanatan Chakraborty, additional superintendent of police in Bogra, told our local correspondent.

Police recovered the bodies around 9:00am after Ruby’s mother-in-law found them dead and informed police about the incident.

Ruby was stabbed by a scissor in the chest while the child Sumaiya was strangulated to death, the police official added.

The bodies were sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
