Municipal polls: 2 OCs withdrawn

The authorities have withdrawn two officers-in-charge in Sunamganj and Noakhali for their alleged controversial roles ahead of the upcoming municipality polls.

"The officers-in-charge of Jagannathpur Police Station in Sunamganj and Hatiya Police Station in Noakhali have already been withdrawn following their controversial role over the elections," an Election Commission official told The Daily Star.

In a separate development, the commission has decided to change the returning officer of Joypurhat municipality on the same ground, the EC official added.
