A microbus carrying passengers drowned in the Padma River today while it was getting on a ferry at Paturia ferry terminal in Manikganj.

A microbus carrying passengers drowned in the Padma River today while it was getting on a ferry at Paturia ferry terminal in Manikganj.

The driver and two passengers of the vehicle were rescued safely, said Abdus Sattar, assistant general manager (Marine) of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), Aricha.

Authorities were trying to lift the vehicle from the river with a BIWTC crane, the official also said.
