Section 144 imposed after Hefajat calls protest rally in Munshiganj’s Sirajdikhan

The local administration of Munshiganj’s Sirajdikhan upazila has imposed section 144 in some areas of the upazila for two days starting from tomorrow at 6:00am due to a protest programme called by Hefajat-e-Islam.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Syed Fayezul Islam confirmed the matter to The Daily Star this evening.

Hefajat-e-Islam called a protest rally at the upazila and as such section 144 was imposed in certain areas of Sirajdikhan to avoid public gatherings to curb the spread of Covid-19.

The imposition will be in force at Kuchiamora College ground, Iqbal Super Market, Nimtala Bus Stand, Awlad Super Market and the surrounding 200 yards area which will start at 6:00am by tomorrow morning and will continue till 9:00am by Thursday night, he added.
