Two Jubo League leaders held

Police on Wednesday night arrested two local Jubo League leaders with firearms and fake medicine from Shalgaria area of Pabna town.

The arrestees are Azmal Sheikh, 35, son of Aku Sheikh, and Raj Ahmed Rony, 40, son of Afzal Hossain of Chhoto Shalgaria village.

The due are members of district unit convening committee of Jubo League.

Pabna Additional Superintendent of Police Masud Alam said, acting on a tip off, they raided Chhoto Shalgaria around 10:00pm and arrested Azmal with a foreign-made pistol, a magazine and seven bullets.

Later, they raided a fake medicine factory in the area and arrested another Jubo League leader Rony for his involvement in manufacturing fake medicine, he said.
