Finance Minister AMA Muhith says the US travel alert for its citizens in Bangladesh will not hamper the country’s economy.

Finance Minister AMA Muhith has said the US travel alert for its citizens in Bangladesh will not hamper the country's economy.

"It is not a matter of the country," Muhith told a press conference at his secretariat office today after returning from the World Bank-IMF Annual Meeting held in Peru.

The US policy in the last seven years was never helpful for Bangladesh, he added.

"There are only two countries in the US list of difficult countries -- Russia and Bangladesh -- and however we try the US policy towards Bangladesh does not seem to change," he said.
