2 teens held over rape attempt in Barguna

Police today detained two 13-year-old boys for allegedly attempting to rape a 10-year-old girl in Sadar upazila of Barguna.

The boys were detained from their houses this morning after receiving a complaint from the victim's family, said Md Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Sadar Police Station.

The victim's mother is preparing to file a case against them, our Patuakhali correspondent reports, quoting the police official.

The incident happened on February 18 while she was playing in a field next to her house, the OC said quoting the family members.

The boys called the girl to a secluded place and tried to rape her, the victim's family alleged. However, she ran away and told her mother of the incident, they said.
