2 ‘terrorists’ killed in ‘gunfight’ in Cox’s Bazar: Police

Police said two terrorists were killed and another injured in a gunfight between two terrorist groups in Cox's Bazar town this evening.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Raihan (25) of Rumaliar Chhara of the district town and Mohammad Sahedul Haque (24) of Takpara Chowmohoni area, said Md Mamunul Islam, additional superintendent (Sadar circle) of Cox's Bazar police.
"Both the deceased were notorious terrorists and accused of several cases, including murder," said the police official.
The gunfight took place between members of Raihan and Asu Ali groups in Sikdar Bazar area around 6:00pm, said additional SP Mamunul.
Shahedul died on the spot while Raihan died on the way to hospital, our Cox's Bazar correspondent reports quoting the police official.
Besides, another man, who could not be identified yet, was receiving treatment at Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital with bullet injures, added the additional SP.
Md Hasanuzzaman, superintendent of Cox's Bazar police, said police launched a drive to arrest the terrorists. They recovered several homemade weapons. The drive is going on.
