350kg jatka seized in Faridpur; 3 fined

A mobile court today seized 350kg jatka (hilsa fry) from a fish market at Bhanga Sadar upazila of Faridpur.

Three fish traders were fined TK 50,500 for the jatka by Executive Magistrate and Bhanga UNO Azim Uddin during a raid around 8:00 am today, reports our Faridpur correspondent.

"Fish traders Shambhu Malo (43) and Kamrul Islam (39) were fined Tk 25,000 each and another fish trader Subodh Kumar Mitra (42) was fined Tk 500, as per the Protection and Conservation of Fish Act, 1950," said Azim.
