Police today arrested three people in connection with a case filed over attacking Aruail Police camp in Brahmanbaria’s Sarail upazila on March 27.

Police today arrested three people in connection with a case filed over attacking Aruail Police camp in Brahmanbaria's Sarail upazila on March 27.

The attack was launched from a procession brought out by Hefajat-e-Islam activists protesting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit.

The arrestees are Abdul Jabbar (28), Islam Uddin (55) and Abu Bakar (32) of Dhamaura village in Sarail upazila, said Anisur Rahman, senior assistant superintendent (Sarail circle) of Brahmanbaria police.

They were arrested from their respective houses early today, reports our Brahmanbaria correspondent quoting the police official.

Of the arrestees, two were named accused in the case while another was arrested on suspicion of his involvement in the attack, added ASP Anisur.

On March 27, Hefazat-e-Islam activists attacked the Aruail police outpost. Fifteen policemen, including Sarail Police Inspector (investigation) Kabir Hossain and some members of Armed Police Battalion (APBn), were injured in the attack.

On March 31, a case was filed with Sarail Police Station against 65 named people and 1,200 unknown persons.
