JMB member arrested in Rangpur, says Rab

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today claimed to have arrested a suspected member of banned militant group Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh in Rangpur.

Rezaul Islam (21), was arrested by a team of Rab-13 from Rangpur town, said Samuel Sangma, assistant director (media) of the battalion, in a press release.

During the drive, the elite force members recovered a mobile phone, SIM card and leaflets, said the Rab official.

During primary interrogation, Rezaul confessed to Rab that using various online platforms including social media, he was working to draw in teenagers and youths to militancy and militant ideology.
