Lured with promise of job, forced into prostitution: 2 girls rescued in Ctg

Two girls, who were lured with the promise of jobs and later forced into prostitution, were rescued from Chattogram.
Police also arrested three persons including a female in this connection.
Police conducted a drive, following a phone call at the national emergency helpline 999 where a man said his cousin is missing for more than two weeks, says a press release sent by the 999 Service Unit.
The caller also said that his cousin, a 16-year-old from Cumilla, was kept confined at a house in Chattogram's Agrabad area, after being lured with the promise of work.
The girl was forced into prostitution there. She somehow managed to communicate with a person who informed the family of her plight, the press release added.
Md Mohsin, officer-in-charge of Double Mooring Police Station, said that the 999 Service Unit immediately informed them and they made the arrest around 1:00am today. Police rescued the two girls from the house in Agrabad at the time.
A case was filed under the Human Trafficking Act in this regard, he said.
