Man stabbed to death during clash in Ctg

A 35-year-old man was stabbed to death during a clash between two groups in Chattogram city's Agrabad area today.
The deceased was identified as Md Hashem of Rangipara area, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent.
The incident happened when a group arranged a programme in front of Roads and Highway Office near Jamburi Park area in Agrabad around 11:30am to mark the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said AAM Humayun Kabir, additional deputy commissioner (West zone) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP).
A group of youths from Rangipara area went there and put up a motorbike stunt show on the road, on the occasion, said the police official.
Local youths of Jamburi park area locked into an alteration with the group, who arranged the programme, as the show was blocking the road, he said.
At one stage, both groups attacked each another and Hashem, owner of the sound system, was stabbed during the clash, said Humayun.
He was taken to Agrabad Ma-O-Shishu General Hospital where he died later, said ADC Humayun Kabir.
Police detained over 15 persons for interrogation, added the police official.
