Rab arrests banned militant group Ansar Al-Islam’s member in Savar

Members of Rapid Action Battalion arrested an active member of the banned militant group Ansar Al-Islam during a raid in the Bank Colony area of Savar Municipal area yesterday.

Members of Rapid Action Battalion arrested an active member of the banned militant group Ansar Al-Islam during a raid in the Bank Colony area of Savar Municipal area yesterday.

The arrestee is Md Saiful Islam (22), of Kundarpara village under Shibpur Police Station in Narsingdi district. He is currently working as a teacher at Al Jamiatul Islamia Madinatul Uloom Madrasa at the Bank Colony area in Savar, reports our Savar correspondent quoting Saiful Islam, inspector of Savar Model Police Station.

A case was filed with Savar Model Police Station today and the arrestee was handed over to police.

Two mobile phones were seized from him during his arrest.

 "Rab-3 members arrested him from in front of Al Jamiatul Islamia Madinatul Uloom Madrasa in Bank Colony area," said Inspector Saiful.

According to the case statement, using information and technology, Rab learned that some members of the banned militant group Ansar Al-Islam were stationed in front of the Al Jamiatul Islamia Madinatul Uloom Madrasa in the Bank Colony area under Savar Police Station.
