Suspected drug dealer killed in 'gunfight' with Rab in Cox’s Bazar

A man suspected to be a drug dealer was killed in a gunfight with members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in Cox's Bazar's Ramu upazila last night, the commanding officer of Rab-7 said.
The deceased was identified as Delwar Hossain (28) of Uttar Jaliapara village in Cox's Bazar's Teknaf upazila, reports our Cox's Bazar correspondent quoting police Lt Col Mahabub Rahman, commanding officer of Rab-7.
The gunfight took place inside Ramu rubber garden near Cox's Bazar-Chattogram Highway around 7:00pm, said Lt Col Mahabub.
The Rab team also recovered around four lakh pieces of yaba, a pistol, four bullets and a bullet shell from the spot, added the commanding officer.
KM Azmiruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Ramu Police Station, said on information from Rab, police recovered the body and sent it to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
