Four books by Fakir Alamgir available in Ekushey Boi Mela

Four books written by the legendary folk singer Fakir Alamgir has been published on the occasion of this year's Ekushey Book Fair. Last year, on July 23, the Ekushey Padak winner left us for good.

Four books written by the legendary folk singer Fakir Alamgir has been published on the occasion of this year's Ekushey Book Fair. Last year, on July 23, the Ekushey Padak winner left us for good.

Three of the books have been published by Anannya Publishers, and the other from Rhythm Publishers. The books are: "Desh Deshantor", "Shadhinota Sangram Laal Shobujer Potakay", "Shongskritite Amader Muktijuddho", and "Mayer Mukh".


"He had prepared the manuscripts of these books, he had given the draft of "Desh Deshantor" to the publishers, just ten days before he left us," shared the singer's wife, Begum Suraiya Alamgir, who is also a published author.

She also informed that Fakir Alamgir had written the introduction for two of the books, while she wrote for the other two. "He was a man of music and culture, I want people to read his book and know about him," she adds.

According to Begum Suraiya Alamgir, the family has more manuscripts written by the legend, and plan to publish the books gradually.

Fakir Alamgir was the founding President of Wrishij Shilpi Goshti. After his death, his wife became the president of the organisation.
