I will always regret not meeting her in person: Ferdausi Rahman

Ekushey Padak-winning singer Ferdausi Rahman shared her regrets for not being able to meet legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar in person. In conversation with The Daily Star, the singer spoke about her admiration for the maestro.

I doubt if a great artiste like her will be born in this continent ever again. Lata Mangeshkar won the hearts of people of all ages. Her excellence in music made her unique, such a melodious voice she had! Although I have visited Mumbai numerous times, I never informed her before going, thus I did not get a chance to meet her. I will always regret not meeting her in person.

I cannot really choose any of Lata Mangeshkar's songs, in particular, however, I have heard most of her songs, and all of them touched my heart dearly.

She was extremely lucky that she received love from millions of audiences from home and abroad during her lifetime. May her soul rest in peace.
