Kishwar Chowdhury joins petition in Australia for sending surplus AstraZeneca vaccines to Bangladesh
Former home cook Kishwar Chowdhury became a sensation in both Bangladesh and Australia after highlighting Bangladeshi cuisine in MasterChef Australia, becoming the second runner up.
Kishwar has joined a petition, urging the Australian government to send surplus AstraZeneca vaccines to Bangladesh, as per a Facebook post she made recently.
A letter was sent to the Prime Minister of Australia, on behalf of Bangladeshi expatriates living in the country, requesting that 50 million surplus vaccines be gifted to Bangladesh on humanitarian grounds.
Australia's parliamentary authorities have considered the motion, and have advised the expatriates to take further action as per rules. In this context, collection of signatures is now going on through e-petition.
Any Australian citizen can sign the petition.
