Let us forget our differences, let us help people: Prince Mahmud on Ctg depot fire
At least 34 people were killed, and more than a hundred were injured in the tragic fire in Sitakunda yesterday – the event has proved to be one of the most tragic accidents in recent memory, with at least 5 members of the fire brigade losing their lives as well. Alongside netizens, celebrities have also voiced out their concerns over the issue on social media.
"How helpless did the fire brigade's spokesman look last night?" wrote eminent music composer and lyricist Prince Mahmud on Facebook. "He was forced to surrender to the journalists and say that they do not know how to put out that fire."
The musician said that he was shook by the incident.
"I swear to God, and I swear by my music that I do not support any party," he wrote. "Not even 15 percent of the hopes and dreams I had for the country back in 90s has been fulfilled…..I can surely ask for change? Or do I not even have that right?", insisted an emotional Prince Mahmud.
"Let's forget our differences, let's stop doing injustice. Instead, let us help people."
The composer also wrote a few lines of poetry to go along with the post that he made.
