Bangladesh Film Archive hosts art competition to honour Bangabandhu

On the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth anniversary and National Children’s Day 2022, Bangladesh Film Archive organised an art competition and children’s film festival at their premises.

On the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth anniversary and National Children's Day 2022, Bangladesh Film Archive organised an art competition and children's film festival at their premises.

More than 100 children from different schools participated in the competition. The event was held in two categories, "Ka" and "Kha", featuring children studying in grades 1-3 and 4-5, respectively.

The programme was presided over by Md Nizamul Kabir, Deputy Project Director, Bangladesh Film Archive. Dr Mofakkharul Iqbal, the director of the Bangladesh Film Archive, has personally supervised the event. Md Mizan-ul-Alam, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting was present at the event as the chief guest and judge.

Kiriti Ranjan Biswas was also present as the judge of the painting competition. Three winners from each category were awarded with prizes at the competition.

After the competition, several films, including "Deepu Number 2" and other documentaries on the life and legacy of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, were screened.

An exhibition of rare stills of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was also organised on the 2nd floor of the Bangladesh Film Archive building.
