Bangladesh Mahila Samity reopens with ‘Lal Jomin’

The Bangladesh Mahila Samity (BMS) is set to reopen with "Lal Jomin" today. It is presented by Shunyan Repertory Theatre. The play, written by Mannan Hira and directed by Sudip Chakraborty will be staged for the 277th time.

The mono-cast play features noted actor and CEO of Shunyan Repertory Theatre Momena Chowdhury who is an active member of the theatre troupe Aranyak Natyadal.

General Secretary of Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation Kamal Bayezid is glad to know that BMS will be reopening, following safety measures.

Renowned actor Mamunur Rashid urged Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy to resume their theatre-based activities as well.

"We have 268 seats at our venue. We will be booking just 100 seats, following safety measures," said Gazi Ibrahim Firoz, Management Officer of BMS.

"Lal Jomin" was staged for the first time in May 2011, at the capital's Natyamandal.
