Farooque’s condition now better, confirms his wife

Noted actor and Member of Parliament Farooque is currently undergoing treatment at a cabin of Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, after being in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since March 21, 2021.

"His condition is now better than before. He has been eating normally, and doing quite well physically. Yet, it will take a few more days for him to fully recover. I request all our well-wishers to pray for their favourite Mia Bhai," his wife, Farhana Pathan, told The Daily Star.  

Farooque has worked in more than 150 films in his illustrious career, and is considered one of the most prolific actors of his time. He won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his role in the film, "Jolchhobi" in 1975. In 2016, the actor received the National Film Award's Lifetime Achievement Award. His notable films include "Sareng Bou", "Lathial", "Shujon Shokhi", and "Golapi Ekhon Train E", among many others.
