Star Cineplex celebrates 17th anniversary with ‘No Time to Die’
Marking their 17th anniversary yesterday, Star Cineplex held the Dhaka premiere of "No Time to Die", the 25th film in the James Bond franchise, at Sony Square, their new branch in Mirpur.
The event began with light refreshments. Soon, the hall gates were open and a video was shared with the audience, highlighting Star Cineplex's journey in Bangladesh so far. This was followed by a Mahboob Rahman Ruhel, Chairperson, SlowMotion Limited (Star Cineplex).
"I took a risk when we started Star Cineplex in 2004, as the movie hall business was on the verge of collapsing, but looking back at the amazing journey we have had so far, I feel very proud of our growth and achievements," he said. "We are now expanding our horizons, taking Cineplex to viewers outside Dhaka, and we plan to start with Bogura."
Freedom fighter Aga Khan Mintu, MP, British Commissioner Robert Chatterton Dickson, and State Minister for information and Broadcasting Dr Murad Hasan also spoke at the event.
Sohanur Rahman Sohan, President of Bangladesh Film Directors Association, noted filmmaker and Chief Operationg Officer of OTT platform Chorki Redoan Rony, "Bishwoshundori" famed director Chayanika Chowdhury, alongside popular actors Omar Sani, Zayed Khan, Sariful Razz, Sabila Nur, Sunerah Binte Kamal, along with owner of Bishwo Rang, Biplob Saha and singer Xefer Rahman were also spotted at the event, among many others.
The formal session ended with a cake-cutting ceremony where renowned actors, directors, and media personalities joined the Cineplex team on stage. The premiere of "No Time to Die" began shortly afterwards.
Following the premiere, one of the most awaited releases of the year, "No Time to Die" is out now at all branches of Star Cineplex.
