Another elephant found dead in Ctg, taking death toll to 4 in 5 days

Another Asian elephant was found dead in Banshkhali upazila of Chattogram this morning.

Locals spotted the elephant near a crop-field at Purba Chambal area in the upazila, said Mujibul Haque Chowdhury, chairman of Chambol Union Parishad, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent.

"After locals informed me about the matter, I notified the forest officials," he said.

However, no forest officials could immediately be reached over the phone for comments.

With this, four elephants have died in the country in just five days-- three in Chattogram region and one in Sherpur.
