Forest officials seized a truck carrying two elephants that were being trafficked in Lohagara upazila of Chattogram.

The incident occurred last night at Tonkaboti beat of Podua Range under Chattogram South Forest Division.

Md Shafikul Islam, divisional forest officer, told The Daily Star that they apprehended the truck with two elephants -- one male and the other female.

The truck was coming from Bandarban, he said.

The elephants were taken to Dolahajari Safari Park, he added.
