Man dies from elephant attack in Ctg

A day labourer died after being attacked by an elephant in Banshkhali upazila of Chattogram today (April 15, 2022).

The deceased was identified as Ratan Dey (52), of Sadhanpur union of the upazila, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent quoting Anisuzzaman Sheikh, wildlife ranger of Joldee Range.

Quoting locals, Anisuzzaman said that family members of Ratan recovered his injured body from Kumarjom hilly area around 12:30pm. He had been missing since Thursday.

He said forest officials rushed to the spot and conducted an investigation to ascertain the cause of death.

They found signs of the presence of an elephant, he added.
