3 arrested for using poison while fishing in Sundarbans

Three fishermen were arrested for using poison while fishing at a canal in Sundarbans' Satkhira range this morning.

On information, members of Burigoalini Forest Office conducted a raid at the Terokati canal around 6:00 am and arrested the three red-handed, said Satkhira Assistant Forest Conservator MA Hasan.

The arrestees -- Ismail Morol, Israfil Morol, and Hossain Gazi of Purba Kalinagar village in Shyamnagar upazila of the district -- were sued in a case under the forest act and sent to a local court, according to a correspondent from Satkhira.

During the raid, the team also seized bottles of poison, fishing nets, and a boat.
