34 illegal structures evicted from Shitalakhhya riverbanks

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) today demolished 34 structures built illegally on the bank of the Shitalakhhya river in Narayaganj’s Rupganj.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) today demolished 34 structures built illegally on the bank of the Shitalakhhya river in Narayaganj's Rupganj.

BIWTA demolished the structures during a drive led by BIWTA Executive Magistrate Shovon Rangsa. The drive began around 11am and ended around 4pm today, our Narayanganj correspondent reports.

The drive will continue in the area and a new border pillar on the river area will be built, BIWTA official Shovon said.
