The Forest Department in Sylhet has formed a committee to investigate the fire incident in a bamboo plantation at Sunarai in Kamalganj, Moulvibazar

The Forest Department in Sylhet has formed a committee to investigate the fire incident in a bamboo plantation at Sunarai in Kamalganj, Moulvibazar.

Sylhet Divisional Forest Officer Taufiqul Islam told The Daily Star, "The investigation committee headed by the range officer has been asked to submit the report within seven days."

Moulvibazar Assistant Forest Conservator Maruf Hossain said, "We have lodged a general diary with Kamalganj Police Station, mentioning that about 2.34 acres of bamboo forest was burnt in the fire. On Monday afternoon, a fire was reported in the bamboo plantation on the road leading to Hamham Falls..."

Range Officer of Rajkandi Forest Range Tauhidul Islam said, "The reason behind the fire is yet to be known."

Kurma forest beat officer Biplab Hossain said the fire was extinguished quickly with the help of forest staffers.
