DoE demolishes 4 brick kilns; fines Tk 21 lakh in Cumilla

A mobile court of the Department of Environment (DoE) during a drive at Muradnagar upazila of Cumilla today demolished four brick kilns and fined Tk 21 lakh for running the kilns without clearance certificates.

DoE Executive Magistrate Tamjid Ahmed oversaw the demolition of the structures and imposed the fines, reports our local correspondent quoting Rounat Reza, assistant director of Cumilla DoE.

The brick kilns are--Tasfi Bricks Kilns, MBC Bricks Kilns, BRS Brick Kilns and Islam Bricks Kilns, said the DoE official.

Police and Muradnagar upazila administration assisted the drive.
