DoE demolishes four illegal brick kilns in Ctg

Department of Environment (DoE) in Chattogram demolished four illegal brick kilns in Lohagara upazila of Chattogram today.

The drive was conducted in line with a High Court order that asked the environmental regulatory body to remove all illegal brick kilns across Chattogram in December last year.

The demolished kilns are AHB Brick Kiln, MRB Brick, ZBM Brick and PBM Brick, said Zamir Uddin, deputy director of the DoE Chattogram.

The kilns did not have environmental clearance certificate for operation, our Chattogram correspondent reports, quoting the official.
